Wigan in May..ah, the
Canals and mills made famous by George
Orwell, the Verve, rugby league, George
Formby, the World Pie Eating
Championships and where Man Utd won the
Premiership perhaps?
The season has all come
down to this one main game as Man Utd
look to take all three points and win
the Premiership title for another year.
Fergie's men are really on something of
a roll at the moment, with one defeat in
their last eight and a Champions League
final in Moscow to look forward too,
although Wigan cannot be underestimated
coming into this game.
The Latics are playing
some of their best football of the
season and Steve Bruce's men are
unbeaten in five games, which has seen
them reach the dizzy heights of
thirteenth and Premiership safety.
.
Even
though Steve Bruce is an Old Trafford
favourite, I'm not expecting his side to
roll over in the way that West Ham did last
Saturday. The main factor over recent weeks
has been their defence, with only two goals
conceded in their last five, and of course a
strong defence is vital when facing a team
such as Man Utd.
Betfair currently price Utd as very short
favourites at 1.2, while the draw is 6.4 and
the Wigan home win a whopping 15.6.
I fully expect Man Utd to win this but I
have a feeling that there maybe some squeaky
bum time for Utd fans. Wigan are playing
well and with confidence, and interestingly,
Utd's recent form away from Old Trafford
hasn't been that impressive, with a defeat
and two draws in their last three games, and
of course, one point will probably not be
enough today, which is why they are
definitely worth a speculative lay to win
the title @ 1.25.
Betfair offer a
free £25 bet on this game
and Wigan +2 @ 1.8 is the call today.
I'm expecting Utd to come straight out of
the blocks but they may find things
difficult against a dogged Wigan side, and
with Rooney carrying a slight knock they may
have trouble breaking down Wigan's back
four. Wigan have sorted themselves out
defensively and will be full of confidence
after their 2-0 away win at Aston Villa,
which is why I'm expecting them to win with
the handicap start.

just!© Free-Bets.uk 2008
