Even though they are not
likely to challenge for the Premiership
title just yet, Sunderland have achieved
what they set out to do this year,
staying in the Premiership for another
season.
Roy Keane has done a sterling
job on a limited budget to guide his
side to fifteenth spot, although the
side looks to be a little tired now as
they near the end of the season, with
three defeats in their last four games,
the last coming at Bolton last week
where the side put in a lacklustre
performance losing 2-0.
I'm sure they
will be looking to make a few signings
in the summer, but for sure in Roy Keane
they have one of the games young and
upcoming managers.
.
Its
been a strange sort of end to Arsenal's
season. Yes the team has qualified for the
Champions League but in reality its been a
relatively disappointing season, with the
Gooners falling away at the critical moment
when it looked like they might just hang on
for the league title.
With the pressure of
the title race over, the side can actually
play with a smile on their face, although
I'm not sure that will please the majority
of Gooner fans who will be disappointed that
the season has finished with a whimper.
Arsenal are having a good finish to the
season, winning their last three games on
the bounce.
Betfair currently price Sunderland at around
10/3, the draw is 11/4 while the Arsenal win
is 10/11.
Even though the upheaval of losing popular
midfielder Flamini to AC Milan this week may
have an effect on the morale of the side,
Arsenal do look a little more powerful than
a Sunderland side who have terrible trouble
in keeping clean sheets at home.
The Black
Cats have not kept a clean sheet in their
last five Premiership games, going back to
Feb 9th when they last kept a team out.
Against the Gunners, especially with Adebayor up front this looks ominous.
Betfair offer a
free £25 bet on this game
and I really like Arsenal at 10/11 (around
1.9) to win this game.
The Gunners have no problem scoring at
the moment and they can take full advantage
of a creaking Sunderland defence. The
correct score of 0-2 @ 12.0 also looks
appealing, as I feel the Gooners have too
much firepower with Van Persie, Adebayor and
Bentner.
A care free game at the Stadium of Light,
but which fans will be the more happier?
Arsenal to win, but the real smiles will
be with the team celebrating another year in
the Premiership.
