Its been an up and down
couple of weeks for Spurs. Firstly, they
won the Carling Cup Final at the new
Wembley, beating Chelsea on penalties,
then went out of the UEFA Cup to PSV.
Tottenham do find themselves in a
healthy position in the league,
currently eleventh, and they played out
a 4-4 thriller at White Hart Lane with
Chelsea in their last game, but I'm sure
their fans will be didappointed they
have not challenged for a Champiosn
League spot this year.
What will
have pleased manger Juande Ramos is the
performance of striker Robbie Keane, who
threw a 'tantrum' after being subbed at
the defeat at Man City, but came off the
bench to equalise against Chelsea.
Portsmouth
are having a fantastic season which has seen
them favourites to lift the FA Cup, while
their league form has been impressive
recently, winning four out of their last
five. It seems Harry Redknapp has once again
turned a rough diamond into gold as Jermaine
Defoe has been on fire since leaving Spurs
to join Pompey, and the former England man
has scored in his last four games.
The bookies have priced the Tottenham
home win as evens, while the draw is 5/2 and
the Portsmouth away win is 3/1.
I have a feeeling that this could be yet
another exciting game at the Lane as both
these teams seem to be scoring for fun at
the moment.
The Berbatov-Keane partnership
is working wonders for Juande Ramos at the
moment, with eight goals scored in
their last two home games. Portsmouth are no
mugs going forward, and I'm expecting Jermaine Defoe to come back and find the net
against his old club. He is 2/1 to find the
net anytime during the game, which I will be
taking a chunk of.
Bet365 offer a
free £100
bet on this game and bet I think
offers superb value is Tottenham to score
3 or more goals @ 3/1. Spurs have
managed to score 3 or more goals against
Chelsea, West Ham and Derby recently and
Portsmouth are having a few problems
defensively at the moment, having been thumped by Everton
3-1 away recently.
I'm expecting another high scoring thriller
at the Lane.
