Well finally that time
of year has come along that every Spurs
player has been waiting for, only one
game to go before they can get on their
private yachts and golf courses, take
the supermodel girlfriend on a Primark
shopping spree and getting a well earned
holiday. Well earned I hear
you say?
Spurs have really been
looking to next season ever since their
Carling Cup final win, and even though
they have only one defeat in their last
eight Premiership encounters, it must be
very frustrating for their fans as they
have drawn five of these.
Fair play,
they did come away from Reading last
week with all three points, but in
reality they were expected to win that
match and it is their performances
against the big boys that really are the
reason as to why Spurs lie in
eleventh place limbo. Spurs fans do have
something to cheer about as as they
welcome a top four team in
Liverpool today.
.
For
Liverpool it really has been a season of
ifs, buts and maybes. If only Rafa Benitez
had thrown his rotation policy in the bin
when not playing Fernando Torres in certain
games, if only John Arne Riise hadn't
decided to head the ball into his own net,
could the Reds be challenging for the title?
Or the double perhaps?
One things for certain, since Torres and
Gerrard have started playing in the majority
of games Liverpool have been on a superb run
of form, with only one defeat (against Man
Utd) in their last eight, and with five
wins, so the signs do look good for next
season.
Betfair have Tottenham as 8/5 favourites for
this game, with the draw 12/5 and the
Liverpool away win 15/8.
Of course, it remains to be seen how much
effort Spurs will put into their game today,
although they haven't given any indications
from recent performances that they have
enough to beat Liverpool today.
Betfair offer a
free £25 bet on this game
and I really like the draw @ 12/5.
Liverpool have drawn two out of their
last four away games, while Spurs have drawn
four of their last five. I'm sure both these
teams will be happy with a point as they
look forward to next season with optimism.
I'm also going for a correct score wager
of 1-1 as in Torres Liverpool are always
likely to nick a goal without the flood
gates opening, while of course in Berbatov
and Keane Tottenham have enough firepower to
cause problems for the Liverpool back four.
Oh and I almost forgot to ask - Berbatov to wave goodbye to London this
summer? © Free-Bets.uk 2008
