Its been a strange sort
of ending to Tottenham's season. After
their Carling Cup Final win they have
notably taken their foot off the gas,
however I didn't think their slump would
last until the end of the season!
Spurs
are really struggling at the moment,
with only one win in seven and although
they haven't been losing many matches,
they cannot do enough to actually secure
the three points. This must infuriate
their fans, as Spurs have a great squad
of talent to choose from, and there is
no hope for a UEFA Cup spot, so really
Tottenham have absolutely nothing to
play for coming into this game.
The same
cannot be said of their opponents today
as Bolton are scrapping for their
Premiership survival and I'm sure they
will be going into this game with 110%
commitment.
.
At
one point it did look like Bolton were dead
and buried, but I have to take my hat off to
manager Gary Megson, as after two wins on
the bounce against West Ham and
Middlesbrough they have lifted themselves
out of the relegation quagmire into 16th
place, only one point above the drop zone.
It really has been a transformation in the
play of the side, after going five wins
without a win, they have also gone two games
with a clean sheet, which in recent
times is unheard of for a Bolton side. One
thing you can say about Gary Megson is that
although his side may not be the prettiest,
he does have experience of Premiership
relegation battles and so knows what to
expect coming into the last fortnight of the
Premiership
The bookmakers make Tottenham favourites for this game at 10/11 while
the draw is 94 and the Bolton away win is
10/3.
In any normal circumstances we would be
diving into the 10/11 for the Tottenham home
win, but in reality I'm not sure how
prepared Tottenham will be for Bolton today.
I really have been impressed with the
managerial selections of Megson, dropping
Diouf in favour of Rasiak, while new keeper
Al Habsi looked unbeatable against
Middlesbrough last week. Wether he can cope
with Keane and Berbatov is another story,
but i'm prepared to give Bolton a chance on
the handicap.
Bet365 offer a
free £100 bet on this game
and Bolton +0.75 @ is the bet for me today.
The Bolton Premiership survival fight is
well under way and although they aren't the
prettiest team top watch, they should prove awkward
and stubborn resistance for Spurs.
Can they stay up? We'll know at 5pm
Saturday.
