Portsmouth are on a
great run of form which has seen them
reach the semi final of the FA Cup with
victory over Man Utd and they are up to
seventh in the Premiership, after
winning three out of their last four,
which includes a good
4-2 win over Birmingham on Wednesday.
The really do have ambitions now of
claiming a UEFA Cup spot and bringing
European football to Fratton Park next
season.
What will have pleased
boss Harry Redknapp is that Pompey have
played just as well at home recently,
with three wins out of four to go hand
in hand with excellent away record. They
now face a Villa side with their own
European aspirations, and they will want
nothing less than three points today to
try and claw back the lead on Everton &

This has all the makings of a great game of
football today as both teams are playing
well, although more recently Portsmouth have
played the lower teams in the league,
Birmingham, Sunderland and Derby while Villa
have gone to the Emirates and secured a draw
against Arsenal.
