Well, Man Utd finally
realised a dream as they beat Barcelona
1-0 in the second leg of the Champions
League semi final to book their trip to Moscow
for the final.
This Saturday, however, they must put
their European success on the back
burner as theyface a very important game
with West Ham at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils now lie
top on 81 points only on goal
difference, and so the three points
today are hugely
important in the context of the
Premiership. Of course, Man Utd suffered
the body blow of a 2-1 defeat at Chelsea
last week, which was their first loss
since the Manchester derby, and their
Premiership form is a little shaky at
the moment, with only one in in their
last four.
They now face a West Ham side
with nothing really to play for this
season, and struggling to put together a
decent performance.
.
The
Hammers find themselves in limbo in 10th
place in the Premiership, with only one win
in their last five games which came against Derby, and
they don't really have any sort of away form
coming into this game, with four losses in
their last five.
Betfair make Man Utd strong favourites at
1.2 (1/5), while the draw is 8.4 (15/2) and
a West Ham win is a whopping 16.0 (15/1)
Although confidence will be extremely
high at Utd, I'm just wondering if there will
be a Champions League hangover, as once
again Utd have to raise their performance as
the three points is a must. The 1.2 offers
very little value for me, instead I'm
prepared to look elsewhere in the betting
markets.
Betfair offer a
free £25 bet on this game ,
and West Ham +2 on the asian handicap @ 1.74
looks like a decent bet.
I do think Man Utd will win this, but I'm
not sure Fergie will risk Ronaldo and Rooney
unless absolutely necessary. West Ham are
looking a little more dangerous going
forward with Dean Ashton in a nice run of
form, and they can cause problems for a Utd back
four missing Vidic.
Will Man Utd slip up? I don't think so,
but the Hammers can keep it tight.
