Although there is still
speculation over Sven Goran Erriksson's
future at Man City, his side responded
superbly well last week, winning their
second game on the bounce as they
defeated high flying Portsmouth 3-1.
This result has seen City keep in the
hunt for a UEFA Cup spot, and I'm sure
they will be looking towards todays game
as a must win three pointer.
City have been pretty
inconsistent since Christmas, as at one
point they did look like they could
maintain their Premiership challenge but
their campaign has dramatically fallen
by the wayside and a season which
promised so much has really hit the
skids, with City now having to fight for
a UEFA Cup spot.
Their last eight games reads as three
wins, three defeats and two draws, which
is not the sort of form that any Man
City fan would want to maintain,
although I'm sure the two recent
victories will have given the morale of
the squad a boost. Of course, they now
face a Fulham side who in all honesty
look dead and buried in the Premiership,
although there is a mathematical chance
they can survive.
.
Roy
Hodgeson's side are now five points off
Premiership survival and things do look very
bleak for the side after they were humbled
2-0 at Craven Cottage last week against
Liverpool. The main reason why Fulham cannot
seem to drag themselves out of the mire is
that they only have one win in their last
five Premiership outings, which really isn't
good enough for a team in their position in
their league.
The bookmakers have Man City as favourites
for this game at 10/11 while the draw is 5/2
and the Fulham away win is 7/2.
Although they do look a team completely
out of form, on closer inspection Fulham
have only lost once out of their last four
away games, so they have shown that they are
no mugs on the road.
Bet365 offer a
free £100 bet on this game
and although I think it will be tight, Man
City have to be the call @ 10/11.
Man City have won two games on the bounce
and I'm sure a capacity crowd at the City of
Manchester Stadium will help the home side
overwhelm a battling Fulham side. If we take
into account that City have recently beaten
Tottenham and Portsmouth at home, surely
they should have enough to secure three
points today over Fulham?
Stranger things have happened, but at
10/11 City have got to be the shout.
