Its really getting tight
at the bottom of the Premiership as
Bolton now find themselves in the
dreaded bottom three, only one point
behind Birmingham.
They find themselves
in this predicament mainly due to a
terrible run of form which saw them lose
five games on the bounce, although they
did stop the rot last week by securing a
0-0 draw at home to Manchester City.
Bolton fans must be wondering if Megson
has the 'magic touch' to get them out of
trouble, because at the moment the ex
Norwich boss has only five wins out of
his twenty games since taking over from
Sam Allardyce as Bolton manager.
They
will be looking for the three points
today however, as they face an Arsenal
side who have more or less given up on
any hope of reclaiming the Premiership
crown.
Arsenal
have really fallen away recently, and it
does show the importance of a strong squad
in the Premiership, which Arsenal simply
haven't got at the moment. Its now five
games in the Premiership without a win for
Arsene Wenger's boys, and it they do look
like a team struggling to find goals, as
their main goal threat this season Emanuel
Adebayor looks like he has left his scoring
touch in the dressing room at the moment.
Bet365 offer a
free £100
bet on this game and for
this game I'm prepared to give Bolton a
head start on the asian handicap +0.75 @
10/11. What Gary Megson lacks in
tactical ability he more than makes up for
it with spirit and fight, and I'm sure his
Bolton team will be fired up for the visit
of the Gunners.
What will worry Arsenal fans
is the fact that they are only averaging a
single goal a game in their last five
matches in the Premiership, which is unheard
of since the days of former boss George
Graham. This really has been their downfall
in recent weeks, and I think Bolton can
really 'shut up shop' and defend at the
Reebok today.
With Bolton keeping it tight and Kevin Nolan battling in midfield I can
see this one heading for a 0-0 stalemate,
which will make our bet a winner.
