Oh John Arne Riise. I'm
sure everyone saw the catastrophic
blunder by Liverpool's left back on
Tuesday night in the 95th minute, but
Liverpool must put that to the back of
their minds as they face a visit to St
Andrews to face Birmingham City. Its
been a hell of ride for Liverpool fans
recently, as the team is flying in
the Premiership, winning six out of
their last eight games, and they have
cemented that Champions League fourth
spot.
If we throw in the result against
Chelsea on Tuesday night, I wonder how
that result will affect the side. What
we must remember however, is that
Benitez did put out a relative reserve
side last week against Fulham and they
won convincingly 2-0.
Birmingham will be
hoping to put a run of one win in seven
behind them as they now find themselves
in the third relegation spot in
eighteenth place. Alex McLeish will have
to lift his side after they were
humiliated 5-1 against the fiercest
rivals Aston Villa last week.
.
Although
Birmingham are having an awful time of it,
at home the team are pretty difficult to
beat, and they are actually unbeaten at St
Andrews in their last four games, which
includes draws with Everton and Newcastle
and impressive wins over Tottenham 4-1 and
Man City 3-1.
The bookmakers make Liverpool favourites for this game at 6/4
while the draw is 7/4 and and the Birmingham
home win is 15/8.
Of course we must bear in mind that Rafa
Benitez will probably rest is stars for this
game as they have the return leg at Chelsea
to look forward too, and I have a felling
the Reds could come unstuck against
Birmingham today.
The Blues will really be
fighting for the Premiership lives and I'm
sure St Andrews will be a very intimidating
place for Liverpool, and Brmingham do have
players that can create chances, especially
James McFadden, who will have to have a big
game today.

free £100 bet on this game
and I like the look of Birmingham +1 goal @
4/7.
Birmingham's home form has been superb of
late and although they were terrible at
Villa Park last week they can bounce back
today against a Liverpool side which really
took a body blow on Tuesday.
