What a Week! The Premiership Goes Mad!

Its been an unbelievable couple of days in the Barclays Premiership. With speculation rife already that Harry Redknapp will raid his old club Portsmouth in the January transfer window, the majority of bookmakers have opened a number of markets on several Pompey stars switching allegiance to Tottenham. The man whose name is on everyone’s lips is Jermain Defoe and VC make him as short as 2/5 to go to Tottenham in January, and 7/4 not to.

They make David James a 7/4 shot to make the move, with Sol Campbell in at 8/1.

“Harry has intimated that he is interested in bringing some of his Pompey players to North London.” said VC spokesman Neal Wilkins, “He’s made no secret of the fact that he rates Defoe very highly, so we can see that happening.”

The firm also make Tottenham an even money chance to finish above Portsmouth at the end of the season, and they are quoted at 5/6 to finish the season in the top ten.

I dont know about you, but I wouldnt be against Jermaine Defoe packing his bags once again and returning to his old stamping ground. To be honest, nothing would suprise me in football after the last week!

    World Cup Free Bet

    The World Cup Qualifiers
Saturday sees a host of crucial World Cup Qualifiers. England and Wales should win against Kazakhstan and Liechtenstein respectively, but Scotland and Northern Ireland have tougher matches. Scotland need three points at home to Norway, and Nigel Worthington’s men have a tricky trip to Slovenia. Anything but a comfortable England win would be a shock, but football can spring surprises. There have plenty of markets on the game, especially in Football Specials where there’s a whole host of interesting markets on the game. The match kicks off at 5.15pm on Saturday evening. Elsewhere Scotland have a massive game , and their manager George Burley. A win here would get the critics off his back. A draw would not please many. A loss would be unacceptable to the Tartan Army and their chances of going through then would take a big dive. A tense afternoon is in store at Hampden.
Wales take on Liechstenstein and should win this at a canter, but nothing can be taken for granted in football. Bellamy is back to lead his country and his influence will be crucial. The game kicks off at 5.30pm and there of lots of free bet specials that run in tandem with the England game. We could well see a lot of goals on Saturday evening.
Finally, there is a tough trip for Northern Ireland in Slovenia, but Nigel Worthington is bullish about their chances and says they are going on the attack from the off. They need to start picking up points if their World Cup campaign is going to get going, so don’t be surprised if they get a result here.
